About MRC
Men and Masculinities Resource Center (MRC) is an Academic Hub established in 2024. Generally, gender discussions tend to overlook men and masculinity and focus on women's issues more. In as much as these are essential talks, understanding men and masculinity is equally important in the pursuit of gender equality. Traditional ideas of masculinity can result into harmful behaviors and attitudes that affect all gender.
MRC seeks to create a more encompassing society through mitigation of these challenges in education and sensitization. Similarly, it seeks to coordinate and build network with the schools and universities in order to create and organize different events and workshop, encouraging students to explore and learn about evolving issues related to gender and men and masculinities.
It's main aim is to provide, conduct and exchange the knowledge building and academic work like academic discourse, research, discussion, reading and writing workshops etc. MRC promote a more knowledgeable and impartial society by offering a space specifically designated for the study of gender-related topics, seeking to disprove conventional ideas of masculinity and advance a culture of gender equality via research, teaching, and community involvement.
Our Objectives
- To provide a wide range of books and resources about men, masculinities, gender and feminism that are hardly found in Nepal.
- To provide support for scholars, undergraduate students or researchers who are working on themes about manhood or related to their research.
- To introduce deliberations that challenge prevailing ideas about the gender roles and perspectives.
