Youth Hub

Plan International Nepal established the Youth Hub as a space for youth activists, particularly girls and young women, to drive social and political change, focusing on sexual and reproductive health rights and gender equality. With support from Yuwa Nepal, Hami DajuVai (HDV) also participated in this initiative in 2022. HDV organized an Online Safety Training and Zine Making Workshop across districts like Makwanpur, Sindhuli, Banke/Bardiya, Kalikot, and Jumla, reaching 150 young girls. The training covered online harassment, misinformation, hate speech, and laws against online violence. Participants also created their own zines.
HDV also conducted Nepal's first live online drama during COVID-19 and hosted discussions on child rights and engaging youth in local planning processes. HDV collaborated with federal stakeholders and constitutional bodies to address marginalized children's issues and contributed to policy papers focused on their needs. HDV led the Girls’ Take Over campaign, where girls contributed inputs to the National Child Rights Council (NCRC) on online safety guidelines and national children’s policies.
HDV further did #EverydayHERO event that recognized individuals promoting gender equality, with nominees sharing their stories to inspire others. Additionally, HDV moderated a private group created by Plan International for girls, “Girl Out Loud,” and offered content on mental health and digital advocacy. Through the YouthHUB Facebook page, HDV reached 32,261 people over three months, sharing stories of youth breaking bias in their communities.
