LGBTIQA+ in Child Rights Movements

HDV has consistently championed the values of social justice and is a strong advocate for the rights of the LGBTIQA+ community. HDV has been proactively promoting and celebrating LGBTIQA+ rights and working towards inclusion and visibility. We have been conducting various activities while promoting the rights of LGBTIQA+, one of which is the event aimed at reviewing Nepal's National Children Policy (2080) through an LGBTIQA+ lens. HDV collaborated with Campaign for Change and engaged various advocates, stakeholders, and media representatives in the process. The review highlighted both the successes of existing policies and the gaps affecting gender minorities, including intersex individuals, in various social spheres. We have received feedback from government officials and stakeholders, which has paved the way for future advocacy and a roadmap for organizations working on similar causes to achieve tangible, visible results in promoting the rights of LGBTIQA+ children.
